Solution: Two methods to remove the Administrator lock
Step 1: Open up the Symantec interface by double-clicking the Symantec ‘shield’ icon present next to system clock.
Step 2: Open the settings page for the Symantec and navigate to Server settings of Live update policy, set the ‘live update server’ to use the default server. Next, select ‘enable users to manually run live update’ for checking.
Step 3: Save the settings and close any open dialogue box, now restart the computer to finalize the new settings. This will enable the ‘Live update’ feature.
Step 1: Log in to the computer, press ‘win+R’. Type ‘regedit’ and press enter.
Step 2: Navigate to the following keys – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software > Symantec > Symantec endpoint protection > live updates > then double-click the value ‘allow manual updates’ and change it from 0 to 1.
Step 3: Close all open windows and reboot the computer. The Live Update feature will be enabled upon the reboot.
